A little culinary trick is to fry sour cream before adding it to borscht. It may seem strange, but this process is very simple and it can give the dish an unsurpassed taste.

How to fry sour cream

To make flavorful fried sour cream, take a few spoons of high-fat sour cream. Add 2-3 chopped garlic cloves to it. Over medium heat, without adding oil, heat the sour cream in a skillet, stirring constantly, for several minutes to thicken and flavor it.

When to add sour cream dressing to a dish

It is recommended to add fried sour cream to borscht 10 minutes before the end of cooking. This way, the sour cream will have time to open up the entire palette of its taste and aroma, while maintaining its consistency. If you don't have sour cream, you can replace it with heavy cream, which should also be fried with garlic.

Borscht flavored with fried sour cream impresses with its tenderness, rich flavor, and lack of sourness that tomatoes or tomato sauce can provide. To complete the dish, garnish with herbs, add slices of bacon and serve with fresh, crunchy bread.
