1. Salt: After removing all the pieces of burnt fabric, there may still be marks on the surface of your device. To remove them, take a soft cloth and sprinkle it with a few tablespoons of salt. Set the iron to the "Cotton" setting and, once it is hot enough, place it on the salt and move it back and forth. Continue this process until the stains disappear. Unplug the iron and allow it to cool down, then wipe it with a damp cloth.

2. Vinegar: If the stains are more stubborn, heat some white vinegar and dip a soft cloth into it. Rub the iron plate until the marks disappear, and then wipe it with a cloth dampened with clean water.

If the vinegar still doesn't remove these stubborn stains, enhance its effectiveness by adding salt. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of salt in a glass of hot white vinegar, then rub the soleplate of the device with the mixture. Once the stains disappear, wipe it with a damp cloth.

3. A mixture of hot water and liquid detergent: If your appliance's plate has a nonstick coating, use a mixture of hot water and a small amount of liquid detergent to clean it. Dip a piece of cloth into the mixture, then wipe the plate to make it look like new. Finally, wipe it with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

4. Dishwashing liquid: Sometimes, the crevices of the iron may harbor burnt residues. To clean them, prepare a solution of water and dishwashing liquid, then dip a cotton swab into it and wipe the crevices. When all the dirt is removed, wipe with a damp cloth and then dry.

5. Metal polish: If the iron plate has no coating, you can make it look new by using metal polish. Pour a few drops of the product and then wipe the stains with a cloth. Once the stains are gone, remove any residue with a clean, damp cloth, and then dry the plate with a dry cloth.

6. Hydrogen peroxide: Hydrogen peroxide is one of the easiest and fastest ways to clean your iron. Simply dampen a cloth with hydrogen peroxide and iron until the stains disappear.

7. Prevention is better than cure: To avoid any incidents with the iron, do not leave it unattended when it is plugged in. Additionally, to keep the appliance looking new, clean it regularly to prevent fabric residue from accumulating in the slots and blocking them. To preserve the quality of the plate, avoid using abrasive cleaners or brushes, as they can further damage the device.
